Cleaning and Prevention
Dentistry is founded on the principle of prevention. All patients are recommended biannual cleanings and examinations.
Crowns, Bridges, and Veneers
If you have a damaged or decayed tooth, Dr. Michael and Kevin Carey can help you choose the best solution.
Dentures
Drs. Michael and Kevin Carey will always advocate to preserve your natural teeth. However, in certain circumstances, dentures are recommended to replace missing teeth or to replace non-restorable teeth after they are gently removed.
Extractions
At Carey Family Dentistry, we make every effort to preserve your natural teeth. However, extractions may be necessary when decay has made the tooth unsalvageable, when teeth are fractured, infected, or when they have extensive mobility due periodontal disease. Once a thorough diagnosis is completed, Dr. Michael and/or Kevin Carey will go over a treatment plan that is right for you.
Fillings
Used to prevent the spread of tooth decay or to correct cosmetic concerns, a restoration is one of the ways to preserve and restore the health of a tooth.
Implants
A dental implant mimics the form and function of a natural tooth, which consists of a root and a crown. The surgical component of placing a dental implant is coordinated with a specialty office so your new smile can be the best it can be.
Clear Aligners
There are various ways to correct crooked or crowded teeth without the use of traditional braces. Clear aligners can be used to accomplish minor tooth movement to help you gain a perfect smile.
Root Canals
When the nerve inside of a tooth becomes compromised or damaged due to trauma, cavities, or other insult, a root canal may be recommended. After careful evaluation and diagnosis of the problem, a root canal will be done to remove the nerve tissue from the inside of the tooth. After a root canal procedure is completed (which may take one or more visits), the tooth is restored with either a filling or a crown, depending on the health of the remaining tooth structure.
Periodontal Deep Cleaning and Maintenance
Among the causes for periodontal (gum) disease are genetic susceptibility, smoking, and other illnesses like diabetes. Periodontal deep scaling and root planing is recommended for patients who have gum disease that cannot be treated with only a routine cleaning. Scaling and root planing (or deep cleaning), involves removing plaque and tartar from above and below the gumline by using ultrasonic and hand instruments and is usually accomplished in more than one visit. In severe cases of periodontal disease, the need for a specialist referral may be needed for additional treatment.
Whitening
At Carey Family Dentistry, professional whitening can be done in-office or by making take home, custom whitening trays.
